Forget a Summer fling… I personally think the holidays really are the most romantic time of year. The candles are burning, the twinkle lights are all around and the crisp, cold air beckons you to get cozy with the one you love. I complied a list of fun, festive date night ideas I can’t wait to go on this December. (ahem, ahem Hubby)
Scroll down for all the romantic inspo and make sure to leave me a comment and share what date nights your planning this December!
Chop Chop. Visit a local tree farm and cut down your own Christmas tree. If you live in southern California like me, this may force you to take a long drive into the country side with your beau. If you aren’t the lumberjack kind, no worries. The friendly staff at tree farms typically accept cash tips and can cut and load your tree for you 🙂
Spike the Cider There are countless recipes on Pinterest now of classic holiday drinks with a twist. Pick your favorite festive beverage (ie; egg nog, hot chocolate, peppermint mochas) and have fun mixing them into new adult libations.
Skate date Ice skating is hilarious. Like, you look like a baby deer learning to use its legs for the first time. Unless your like some pro Olympian, ice skating is such a FUN and HISTERICAL TIME. And its totally a work out too! The balance work and the laughter! Win-win in my book.
Fire it up When Colin and I started dating he was a full time intern at our church so it wasn’t exactly in the budget to take me on super elaborate, fancy dates. Nevertheless, he worked with what he had. Some firewood, blankets and a picnic basket was all he needed for one of my favorite nights to date. He took me to the beach and made a bonfire in the sand. We watched the sun set and made smore’s for dessert. So swoony right??
Candy Cane Lane Where I grew up, this was the actual name of an actual street that made the Griswalds look like amateurs. Candy Cane Lane is a culdesac of uber decorated homes that lit up the night sky. Google festive neighbors where you live, pack a thermos of hot cocoa and stroll the streets with the one you love.
Winner Winner… Chicken dinner! A night of fun games and competition makes for a great date night in when the weather doesn’t permit being outdoors. I love a good gingerbread house contest, an interactive word game (secret about me- I loathe card games, sorry! love me or leave me!) work on a puzzle or do a blindfolded taste testing challenge. And declare a clear winner. No ties. Don’t like it to lose?? Declare a rematch!
Tag me in the photos of your December date nights!!! Happy December lovies!
