Bridesmaid Bootcamp

February 21, 2018

I have the great privilege of standing next to two of my best girls on their big days this year.  As Matron of Honor in both weddings I want to do my best and look my best in the photos that will live on for a lifetime. Its time to get serious in the gym. The first wedding is in May so we’ve not time to waste! Personal trainer and groom-to-be Mitchell Arce of Cultivating Fitness is showing me a few of his signature moves that will target problem areas and help get me aisle ready in the next 90 days.

If you’re getting married or just getting ready to catch the bouquet I hope you find this workout routine a helpful resource to getting you one step closer to your goals. And if you’re in the San Diego area and you’re looking for a personal trainer, check out @Cultivating.Fitness and tell him I sent ya!

Bridesmaid Bootcamp

Step 1: Warm up by laughing and flexing in the mirror. Just kidding. But seriously- warm up.

Step 2:The Ring Bearer”  Begin walking lunges with dumbbell straight out in front of you, curl weight in when standing, extend out again when lunging. 15 on each side, alternating legs.

Step 3: “The Bouquet Toss”  (Oblique twist + Row)  In a kneeling lunge position bring weight behind the ear and across the body down to the opposite knee. Repeat 15 times, then switch sides.

Step 4:Lift the Veil”  (Over head shoulder press + squat) With palms facing out press dumbbells up over head, return arms to 90 degrees and squat. Repeat 15 times.

Step 5:  “Honeymoon Hover”  Get into plank position with both hands balancing on a medicine ball. While hovering in plank position bring alternating legs into chest. 15 times each leg.

Step 6: Garter kick”  Start by lying on one side and raise legs to 45 degree angle, bend knees and pull legs into the body- crunching your obliques. Extend legs out and touch your toes. Repeat on each side 15 times.

I wish we could workout together so we could cheer each other on in person! *You’re doing great! Keep it up! Looking good!* Comment below if you’d totally come to a free class with me and Mitch in Southern California.   Until then- Internet fist bumps from us to you!!
