With all the BBQs, pool parties and beach trips, it’s hard to beat.
All that fun in the sun can also be so harsh on the hair, dehydrating to the body, and disastrous to the skin. 👎🏼
Here’s a few of my favorite post-sun tricks to keep your hair, skin and bod glowy all summer long.
Detox Spa Water.
After years of working as an esthetician in spas in Napa Valley and Southern California, I came to appreciate a good spa water. Not only do they taste great and give such a vibe, they are also full of health and beauty benefits too.
For total rehydration after a day by the pool I add to a large pitcher of purified water-
+ Lemon, Mint, Cucumber, and ginger.
*Bonus* Not only does this anti-oxidant rich concoction revitalize your skin from the inside out, but the anti-inflammatory ingredients also banish excess bloat. 🙌🏼
I keep a boar bristle brush right near the entrance of my shower all summer long so I don’t forget this one.
Take 2 minutes before you step into the shower and brush your legs, arms and belly in upward strokes towards your heart.
This tells the lymphatic system to wake up and get moving in a major way.
Such a simple and inexpensive way to tighten, tone and firm the skin. I notice a reduction in cellulite, bumpy chicken skin and in-grown hairs when I am dry brushing regularly. 👌🏼
At-home Hair Glossing
I have been doing this trick since college. This hair treatment is inexpensive and SO EASY to use. In minutes it gives your hair a diamond-like shine, refreshes your color and makes your mane silky smooth to the touch. 🤩
When my color is fading from the sun and as dry as a broom from all the chlorine, I pop this in and my hair is INSTANTLY glowing again. Praise.
